The opening of the peak period of crime suppression during the Lunar New Year was the success of the dismantling of a transnational drug trafficking ring by the Drug Crime Investigation Department of Nghe An Police on December 1, 2013, with the seized evidence being 10 heroin bricks and 2kg of crystal meth. The 5 subjects arrested in this ring regularly went to Laos to buy heroin and crystal meth in large quantities, then secretly brought them to Nghe An and then smuggled them into the southern provinces for consumption.

From the assessment of the activities of various subjects during the Lunar New Year, the detectives closely followed the area, discovered and arrested 57 cases, 77 subjects transporting and trading drugs, confiscating nearly 4kg of heroin, more than 2kg of crystal meth and many related exhibits.
