Cuban parliamentary election results are 'victory of the Revolution'
The results of Cuba's parliamentary elections are a "victory for the Revolution," Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel affirmed on March 27, shortly after the results of the country's parliamentary elections were announced.
In a status posted on Twitter, the Cuban leader assessed the general election with a voter turnout of 75.92% as a clean election despite calls for abstention from anti-government forces.
National Election Council President Alina Balseiro said on the same day that all 470 candidates received enough valid votes to be elected to the 10th National Assembly. 90.28% of the more than 6.1 million votes were valid, of which 72.1% were votes for all candidates.

Speaking on national television, Ms. Balseiro thanked the people for demonstrating civility and democratic spirit through their large participation in the election which is of special importance to the present and future of this Caribbean island nation.
“We have successfully concluded the election day to elect our representatives to the National Assembly of the People's Government. We started this process with more than 8 million voters casting their primary ballots and more than 6 million others exercising their right to vote on the official election day, with the legal requirements set by the electoral authority.”
According to analysts, the high voter turnout is a manifestation of support for the Cuban Government in the context of the country's current economic difficulties.
It is expected that the 10th National Assembly of Cuba will hold its first session on April 19 in Havana to elect the President and Vice President and members of the State Council./.
