Chairman of the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Julius Genachowski has sent a letter to the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), asking the FAA to create conditions to support airline passengers to comfortably use their mobile devices.

Chairman Genachowski's letter calls on “the FAA to support passenger use of tablets, e-readers, and other mobile devices while traveling by air.”

According to the FCC chairman's reasoning, the above usage is very important, because mobile devices are increasingly playing an indispensable role in the daily lives of Americans.

Thanks to products such as tablets, smartphones, and e-readers, both large and small businesses operate more efficiently and productively, thereby helping to improve the growth of the US economy, as well as promoting positive competition./.
