Opening of the training course to update knowledge for members of the Party Central Committee

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Politburo members and Party Central Committee Secretaries attended the opening ceremony.

This course is attended by 90 Central Committee members who have participated in the previous Central Committee, as well as Ministers, Provincial Party Secretaries, City Party Secretaries and equivalents who did not participate in this Central Committee. Previously, the first course for members of the 12th Party Central Committee, participating in the first Central Committee, was held from August 14-18.

Comrade Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Head of the Central Organization Committee, delivered the opening speech, stating: Since its inception, our Party has always paid attention to training and fostering cadres. President Ho Chi Minh, during his lifetime, always advised cadres not to neglect their studies. The training and knowledge update program for Central Committee members is built in the direction of systematizing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws in the fields of Party building, socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, and foreign affairs; providing new knowledge, theoretical and practical issues, serving the leadership and direction of Central Committee members.

On behalf of the Politburo and the Secretariat, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong welcomed the comrades to attend the class as planned. The General Secretary emphasized: Studying is a very important and necessary issue in life and work, especially in revolutionary work. In the process of leading the revolution, Lenin and Uncle Ho always paid attention to the study of the entire Party and people, especially for cadres and party members. Lenin once said: "Without revolutionary theory, there can be no revolutionary movement..." Uncle Ho advised: The revolution will progress forever, so we must study for life. Study to work, to be a human, and then to be a cadre. Lifelong learning, this idea is very profound. Revolutionary cadres must study, not only in class, through books, but the main thing is to study and research on their own.

During the 5 days (August 27-31), the trainees were trained and updated on knowledge of 9 topics, including important contents such as: Building an honest, serving and active Government; Building a socialist rule-of-law State in the new situation; Building and rectifying the Party, innovating and arranging the apparatus of the political system and building a contingent of cadres; Ideological and theoretical work of the Party; Promoting the strength of great national unity, implementing social democracy; socio-economic development guidelines; Security, defense and foreign affairs strategies. These are major topics, within the scope of the class, only a number of key and core contents are selected, focusing on new issues, of current relevance, both in theory and practice, closely following the spirit of the Resolution of the 12th National Congress and the Resolutions of the Central Conferences from the beginning of the term until now, serving practically and directly in the work of the Central Committee members.

The General Secretary hopes that, with the main spirit of supplementing and updating new knowledge directly serving leadership and direction, the class is a place for students to exchange, discuss, share practical experiences, unify perceptions, and clarify newly arising issues. The General Secretary hopes that through this class, students will gain useful, practical, and substantial results, on that basis, work better and complete assigned tasks better.
