Opening of training class on folk performing arts of the Kho Mu ethnic group
On the afternoon of June 10, in Ky Son district, the Department of Culture and Sports of Nghe An province organized the opening ceremony of a folk performing arts training course for the Kho Mu ethnic group.
The training course was attended by more than 80 trainees who are artisans, cultural figures, and prestigious people in the community in Ky Son, Tuong Duong and Que Phong districts.

During the 4 days (June 10-13), students will learn many important contents such as: guidelines, policies and strategies related to the preservation of ethnic minority culture in general and the Khmu ethnic culture in particular; Characteristics of Khmu culture in Nghe An and the importance of preserving cultural identity associated with community tourism development.
Students are also taught basic dance movements of the Khmu people (knife dance, waist shaking dance, fish dancing, bird chasing dance, harvest dance...); use musical instruments, practice singing some folk songs such as Tom, Re re...

The content of the lectures is given by experts with many years of experience in researching and understanding ethnic minority folk performing arts and excellent artisans who possess a rich treasure of folk songs and unique ways of making and performing musical instruments.
Through the training course, the aim is to educate the value of intangible cultural heritage, enhance the understanding of ethnic culture in general and folk music of the Khmu people in particular. From there, it contributes to orienting, raising awareness of self-preservation, conservation and promotion of the values of folk performing arts of the Khmu people, creating an environment for exchange, sharing knowledge and skills in practicing heritage, thereby avoiding the current strong erosion and assimilation.
