Opening of the 19th Quynh Luu Television Cup Children's Football Tournament

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 27, Quynh Luu Television Station in coordination with the district's Sports Center held the opening ceremony of the 19th Quynh Luu Television Cup Children's Football Tournament, 2014.

This year's tournament has 33 teams from 33 communes and towns of Quynh Luu district with a total of 396 players. The tournament is divided into 11 groups, each group consists of 3 teams. Here, the teams will compete in a round-robin format to calculate points and select the best team to participate in the final round. The Quynh Luu Television Cup Children's Football Tournament is the largest annual traditional sports tournament of the district, with the largest number of players, the most enthusiastic cheering audience and the biggest prize. From this tournament, many Vietnamese Golden Balls such as Cong Vinh and Hong Son have been discovered and trained, and at the same time, excellent football players have been provided for the country and clubs at home and abroad. And this is also a useful playground for children and teenagers in Quynh Luu district during the summer, avoiding unfortunate accidents.

This year’s tournament is sponsored by Nghe An Minerals, Construction and Petroleum Corporation with a total amount of 30 million VND. The new feature of this year’s tournament is that the teams will compete at the district stadium and the starting time will be shortened to only about 10 days, from June 27 to July 6, 2014.

At the end of the season, the Organizing Committee will award 7 million VND to the champion team, 5 million VND to the runner-up team, 2 third-place teams will receive 3 million VND each, and 1 style award of 1.5 million VND.
