Opening of badminton tournament for civil servants and public employees of Quynh Luu district

(Baonghean.vn) - Towards the 85th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2014), on the morning of July 19, at the Quynh Luu district gymnasium, the Quynh Luu district Labor Federation in coordination with the district Sports Center organized the opening ceremony of the 2014 Quynh Luu district badminton tournament for civil servants and public employees.

Participating in this tournament are 198 athletes who are civil servants and employees of 15 agencies and 13 communes and towns in the district. During 2 days (July 19 and 20), athletes will compete in 24 events such as Men's doubles; Women's doubles; Mixed-Female doubles in the age groups under 30, 31-40 years old, 41-50 years old and over 50 years old... to win 24 sets of medals. This is an annual tournament to respond to the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" among civil servants and employees. At the same time, it is a playground for civil servants and employees to meet, exchange and learn from each other's experiences in work as well as in sports competitions. Through the movement, we encourage and motivate civil servants and employees to enthusiastically compete in labor production, contributing to the cause of socio-economic development in the area.

Right after the opening ceremony, the first matches took place fiercely and attractively, attracting a large audience to watch and cheer. The tournament will end on July 20, 2014.
