Opening of the Traditional Sports Tournament of the Party Committee of the Provincial Government Offices 2014

(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of September 12, at Nghe An Sports Competition and Service Center (No. 6 Dao Tan Street, Vinh City), the Provincial Party Committee of the Provincial Agencies' Block held the opening ceremony of the Traditional Sports Tournament to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Party's founding (September 22, 1954 - September 22, 2014).

Attending the opening ceremony were comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Leaders of provincial Departments, Boards and branches and a large number of athletes and fans.

This year's Provincial Traditional Sports Tournament gathered more than 600 athletes from 55 agencies and units, competing in 3 sports: Men's football, badminton and men's doubles tennis.

In which, men's football has 26 participating teams divided into 8 groups; badminton includes the following events: men's doubles, mixed doubles and women's doubles. Immediately after the opening ceremony, athletes compete in badminton events.

The representative of the Organizing Committee presented flowers to thank the sponsors.

Previously, from September 5 to 7, the qualifying matches for the men's football group stage took place.

With the aim of promoting the health training movement, the Traditional Sports Tournament of the Provincial Party Committee is also an opportunity for agencies and units to promote the spirit of solidarity, exchange and learn from each other.

The closing ceremony and awards ceremony will take place on September 14, 2014.
