Opening of National Cup Classical Wrestling and Freestyle Wrestling
On the morning of March 21, at the Thai Nguyen Province Sports Service and Competition Center, the General Department of Sports and Physical Training (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) held the opening ceremony of the 2013 National Classical and Freestyle Wrestling Cup.
Participating in this tournament are 217 athletes from 20 delegations of 18 provinces and two branches of the Public Security and the People's Army, including 70 female athletes and 147 male athletes.

Athletes compete in three categories: classical wrestling in the weight classes of 50kg, 55kg, 60kg, 66kg, 74kg, 84kg, 96kg, 120kg. Men's freestyle wrestling in the weight classes of 50kg, 55kg, 60kg, 66kg, 74kg, 84kg, 96kg, 120kg. Women's freestyle wrestling in the weight classes of 44kg, 48kg, 51kg; 55kg, 59kg, 63kg, 67kg, 72kg.
This is an opportunity for athletes to exchange, compete, test their skills, and evaluate their own level and quality, as well as that of the coaches of the delegations.
Through the tournament, the organizing committee will select outstanding young athletes to continue training and adding to the national wrestling team.
At the end of the tournament, the organizing committee will award trophies and flags to the teams that won first place in the three categories. In addition, the General Department of Sports and Physical Training will confer the title of national master and national level I to athletes with high achievements in the competition.
The 2013 National Classical Wrestling and Freestyle Wrestling Cup is expected to end on March 28./.
