Opening of Laos-Vietnam Trade Fair 2011
On the morning of December 1, in Vientiane, 180 businesses from the two countries with a total of 270 booths; including 94 Vietnamese businesses, participated in the Laos-Vietnam Trade Fair 2011 jointly organized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Lao Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The goods of this year's fair are very diverse, beautifully labeled, scientifically presented and more eye-catching than previous fairs, especially quality is put first, so it has left many impressions on attendees.
Within the framework of the fair, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the two countries organized a Trade Conference between enterprises of the two countries to create opportunities to promote products and industries with high quality products, creating good opportunities for enterprises of the two countries to cooperate in building a wide network of goods import and export, contributing to increasing the import and export turnover of the two countries to achieve encouraging numbers, worthy of the expectations of the senior leaders of the two countries.

In recent years, two-way trade turnover between the two countries has continuously increased, reaching an average growth rate of 24% in the period 2005-2010. In the first 10 months of 2011 alone, trade turnover between the two countries reached 581 million USD, an increase of 51%.
In addition to familiar import and export items such as iron and steel, petroleum, means of transport and spare parts, wood, textiles, etc., the list of import and export items between the two countries is increasingly diverse with the appearance of many new items with a relatively large proportion such as vegetables, fruits and other agricultural products.
The 2011 Laos-Vietnam Trade Association created a good opportunity for Vietnamese and Lao enterprises to exchange and sign sales contracts, explore joint venture, association and investment cooperation opportunities, contributing to enhancing understanding and solidarity between the business community and people of the two countries, practically celebrating major holidays in the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Year 2012.
