Opening of Hue Festival 2014 International Trade Fair

On the morning of April 12, the Hue Festival 2014 International Trade Fair opened at the Thua Thien - Hue Provincial Sports Competition Center.

This is a national trade promotion program in 2014 organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with the People's Committee of Thua Thien - Hue province, attracting many businesses from Thailand, Laos, the US, France, Germany, Taiwan... and nearly 500 businesses in localities across the country to participate.

The fair takes place from April 12 to 18 with 600 booths of over 350 businesses and 26 localities nationwide, of which Thua Thien - Hue has 50 booths.

The goods and products participating in the fair are quite rich and diverse, such as: textiles, leather shoes, accessories; agricultural products, seafood, processed foods; handicrafts and traditional specialties; means of transportation; industrial goods: metals, electronics, refrigeration, supplies, raw materials for production; construction materials, interior decoration, etc.

The fair is divided into 3 areas: the area for businesses, trade promotion organizations, culture and investment from countries in the East-West economic corridor, ASEAN countries, Japan, Korea... Unlike previous years, this year the Organizing Committee has arranged an additional area to display products of strong brands, at the same time mobilizing the participation of products that have achieved the Top Vietnamese gift specialties and booths displaying products that have reached the final round of the Hue Gift and Souvenir Design Contest 2013.

During the fair, there were many attractive activities such as nightly cultural exchange programs, seminars on “Economic integration and connection - Business opportunities for enterprises” to improve the competitiveness of enterprises in the province.

On this occasion, the organizing committee announced and awarded the certificate of Top 50 Vietnamese Gift Specialties for the first time in 2013 for two specialties: sesame candy and Hue sour shrimp.
