Opening of the 16th Vietnam International Fisheries Exhibition

On the morning of August 6, the 16th Vietnam International Seafood Exhibition (VietFish) 2014, organized by the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers, opened in Ho Chi Minh City.

The fair attracted more than 170 domestic and foreign enterprises with more than 300 booths, displaying products on an area of ​​over 10,000 m2. Among them were many enterprises from Japan, the US, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and European countries, which are currently leading trade partners of Vietnamese seafood. This is an opportunity for Vietnamese seafood processing and exporting enterprises to find more partners, expand markets and boost exports, striving to reach a turnover of 7 billion USD this year.

The fair is also an opportunity for state management agencies, businesses and farmers to sit together to share information to remove difficulties and promote advantages in aquaculture, processing and exporting seafood of our country in the coming time.

Speaking at the opening of the Fair, Mr. Tran Tuan Anh, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, pledged that the Ministry of Industry and Trade will work with the Vietnam Fisheries Association, relevant ministries and local authorities, and especially the business community in the seafood sector of Vietnam to promote and build brands, aiming to sustainably develop the market for Vietnamese seafood.
