Opening of the 2nd Ethnic Minority Arts Festival in Nghe An Province

(Baonghean) -On the afternoon of November 18, in Quy Hop district, the opening ceremony of the 2nd Nghe An Ethnic Minority Arts Festival took place.

This is an activity aimed at preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic minorities in the whole province, promoting the role of cultural entities in the development process, while honoring good traditional cultural values, encouraging creativity and enhancing the cultural enjoyment of ethnic people, in order to promote the socialization of cultural activities, mobilize all resources for the preservation and development of ethnic cultures, linking the tasks of economic development with cultural development, especially in key areas.

The organizers presented souvenir flags to the participating delegations.

The Festival program includes folk songs and dances of ethnic minorities praising the Party, Uncle Ho and the homeland and a costume contest of ethnic groups.

This festival gathered 11 mass art troupes with more than 300 actors from 11 districts and towns: Quy Hop, Quy Chau, Que Phong, Nghia Dan, Tan Ky, Thanh Chuong, Anh Son, Con Cuong, Tuong Duong, Ky Son and Thai Hoa Town. Right after the opening ceremony, there were art performances by the troupes of Quy Hop, Tan Ky, Con Cuong and Nghia Dan.

The festival is expected to close on the evening of November 19, 2011.
