Opening of the 3rd Ethnic Minority Arts Festival - 2014
(Baonghean.vn) - Welcoming the 2nd Congress of Ethnic Minorities in Nghe An province, on the morning of September 16, in Vinh City, the Provincial People's Committee opened the 3rd Ethnic Minorities Art Performance Festival in Nghe An province - 2014.
Attending the ceremony were members of the Provincial Party Committee: Le Xuan Dai - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Luong Quang Kinh - Head of the Provincial Ethnic Committee. Representatives of the leaders of Military Region 4 Command, the Provincial Border Guard and related agencies and departments.

This is an opportunity for artisans, cultural and artistic nuclei of ethnic groups to express the intangible cultural values of their ethnic groups through song-dance-music melodies to the public. In addition, this is also an opportunity for exchange, learning, and demonstrating solidarity among ethnic groups and localities in the province to contribute to preserving and promoting the culture of each ethnic group.
Attending this festival are 11 troupes from 11 mountainous districts in the province with nearly 300 actors. The troupes will perform a total of 49 unique folk songs and dances of the mountainous ethnic groups, imbued with the cultural identity of each region.
On the opening morning, the audience enjoyed 20 performances from 4 districts of Quy Hop, Tuong Duong, Quy Chau and Con Cuong. Many special performances with themes praising the homeland, country, family and couple love were impressively performed such as "Hello brother, hello sister on the long road" (Tho folk song), "Say nhau roi" by Quy Hop troupe, "Tham tinh mien Tay", "Le hoi tieng tho" by Tuong Duong troupe.

In his opening speech, comrade Le Xuan Dai - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: "The ethnic minorities of Nghe An province have more than 440,000 people, including many ethnic groups living together in 11 districts and towns in the province. The ethnic minorities have a revolutionary tradition, are united, love and care for each other, and have a rich cultural tradition of each ethnic group, creating a diverse cultural identity of the ethnic minorities in the province. The Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee focus on directing branches and levels to well implement the preservation and promotion of ethnic cultural values in the area. One of the activities to honor and preserve ethnic cultural values is the Art Performance - Cultural Exchange of Ethnic Minorities held every 3 years".
The 3rd Provincial Ethnic Minority Arts Festival will last for 2 days (from September 16 to 17). On the afternoon of September 17, there will be a beauty contest for ethnic minorities. On the evening of September 17, excellent performances will be performed and the closing ceremony will take place.
