Opening of the 12th Vinh City Phu Dong Sports Festival

(Baonghean.vn) -This morning (January 10), Vinh City held the opening ceremony of the 12th Phu Dong Sports Festival. Attending the opening ceremony were leaders of the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vinh City leaders and a large number of students and teachers.

This year's Vinh City Phu Dong Sports Festival has 800 athletes from schools in the city. Primary school students will compete in 4 events: table tennis, soccer, chess and shuttlecock. Secondary school students will compete in 7 events: soccer, table tennis, volleyball, badminton, shuttlecock, chess and athletics. Through this Sports Festival, Vinh City will select outstanding athletes to participate in the 2012 Provincial Phu Dong Sports Festival.

The Sports Festival is also an opportunity to promote the emulation movement of practicing and competing in sports among students, a playground for students to compete, build a united and cohesive collective.
