Deputy Prime Minister talks with US Secretary of State John Kerry |
APEC Forum is one of the most important multilateral cooperation mechanisms of our country.
At the 6th APEC Summit in Kuala Lumpur in 1998, Vietnam became an APEC member and has since then always played an active role with many contributions and initiatives. The highlight of the past 16 years has been our country’s successful hosting of APEC Year 2006, with many results and Vietnam’s mark in the hearts of international friends. Our ministries, sectors and enterprises have also actively participated in committees, working groups and the APEC Business Advisory Council, chairing many cooperation programs in the fields of economics - trade, customs, disaster response, aviation security, health, etc.
Last September, the 6th APEC Ministerial Meeting on Human Resources Development was successfully held in Hanoi, approving the “APEC Roadmap for Human Resources Development in the 2015-2018 period”. The fact that our country is actively preparing to host APEC Year 2017 vividly demonstrates Vietnam’s proactive contribution to the common concerns of the Forum and the Asia-Pacific region.
