Opening of the provincial excellent teacher competition at primary school level

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of February 4, the Department of Education and Training held the opening ceremony of the Provincial Excellent Teacher Competition at the primary school level, school year 2014-2015.

Comrade Thai Huy Vinh, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training delivered the opening speech of the contest.

The contest is held every four years. 332 teachers from more than 500 schools in the province participated in the contest. These are prestigious teachers, good at their profession and have been recognized at least once as excellent teachers of the province or twice consecutively as excellent teachers of the district, city, or town. The contest takes place in three forms: judging experience initiatives, testing teachers' capacity in terms of professional knowledge, pedagogical skills and policies, orientations for fundamental and comprehensive innovation of general education and practical exam.

This year's provincial primary school teacher competition has great significance because this is the year the whole sector implements Resolution 29 on comprehensive fundamental innovation in education and training, the first breakthrough being innovation in examinations and changes in the way of assessing students at the primary level. The competition also creates a new educational environment, a driving force for emulation in teaching well, learning well, supplementing the core teaching staff, creating source staff for schools and an opportunity for teachers in the whole province to exchange and learn. The results of the competition are a measure for each teacher to self-evaluate and improve themselves, accumulate experience, improve professional capacity to complete their tasks excellently.
