Opening ceremony of the 2013 Nghe An Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Area Sports Festival
(Baonghean.vn) -This morning, April 11, at Quy Chau district stadium, the opening ceremony of the Nghe An Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Area Sports Festival 2013 took place.
The competition took place from April 11 to 13, 2013, with 208 athletes from 11 mountainous districts: Ky Son, Tuong Duong, Con Cuong, Anh Son, Tan Ky, Que Phong, Quy Chau, Quy Hop, Nghia Dan, Thanh Chuong, Thai Hoa town and some communes of Quynh Luu participating. The competition had 6 competitions including: Volleyball (men and women), stick pushing, crossbow shooting, shuttlecock throwing, tug of war and stilt walking.

The Mountainous District Sports Festival is a major festival for ethnic minorities, aiming to develop the movement of training and competing in sports, improve health and cultural and spiritual life, and encourage people to actively participate in the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho"; At the same time, it aims to exploit folk games and ethnic sports to preserve and promote the traditional cultural and sports values of ethnic minorities. Thereby, discovering talented athletes to prepare forces to participate in the 8th National Ethnic Minority Sports Festival in 2013.
