Opening of Cua Lo Tourism Festival 2009
(Baonghean) -At exactly 8:00 p.m. today (April 30, 2009), at Binh Minh Square, the Cua Lo Tourism Festival 2009 opened, receiving the Second Class Labor Medal and the Government's Decision to recognize Cua Lo Town as a Type III urban area. Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan sent a congratulatory flower basket.

Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Tran Van Hang (Member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central External Relations Commission), Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue (Member of the Party Central Committee, State Auditor General), Mr. Phan Dinh Trac (Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province), representatives of ministries, departments and central branches, leaders of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, departments and branches of Nghe An province, Vinh city, a large number of officials, people, tourists and domestic and foreign investors.
In the history of more than 100 years of tourism development, especially the past 15 years, Cua Lo town has increasingly affirmed its position on the national tourism map. Cua Lo coastal town has developed in all aspects, infrastructure has been enhanced, people's lives have been constantly improved, the Party and State have awarded the Second Class Labor Medal and recognized it as a third-class urban area. The task in the coming time of the town is very heavy, therefore, the town's cadres and people need to strongly promote the patriotic emulation movement, build Cua Lo green, clean and beautiful, worthy of being a coastal tourist city of the region and the whole country.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Dinh Trac affirmed the rapid development and growth of Cua Lo coastal tourism town, and at the same time pointed out the need for innovation with greater determination to build a green-clean-beautiful, prosperous, civilized coastal town, striving to become a city by 2011.
Authorized by the President, Chairman Phan Dinh Trac respectfully awarded the Second Class Labor Medal to the town's officials and people, and beat the drum to open the 2009 sea tourism festival. Deputy Minister of Construction Tran Van Son awarded the certificate of recognition as a type III urban area to Cua Lo Town.

The Festival Opening Program continued with music and dance performances with the theme "Impressive Cua Lo" and a brilliant fireworks display on the festival night witnessed by a large number of tourists at Binh Minh Square and tens of thousands of viewers watching live on Nghe An Radio and Television.
