Opening of the 19th North Central Region Art Photography Festival
(Baonghean.vn) -This morning, September 10, in Vinh City, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists in coordination with the Nghe An Literature and Arts Association opened the Art Photography Festival of 6 provinces in the North Central region.
Attending the opening ceremony were photographer Vu Quoc Khanh - Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, Director of the News Publishing House; Artist Bui Hoa Tien - Head of the Exhibition Creation Committee - Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists; leaders of the Nghe An Literature and Arts Association and photographers from 6 provinces of the North Central region, representatives of some provincial departments and agencies, and many people who love art photography.

The 19th North Central Region Art Photography Festival hosted by the Nghe An Literature and Arts Association received 1,074 works from 175 authors from 6 provinces. On September 8, the jury chaired by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists organized a public judging through 2 rounds of voting, selecting 150 works for exhibition. 11 excellent works were awarded: 1 Gold Medal for the work: "Trao truyen" (author Quang Dung - Nghe An), 2 Silver Medals for the city "Phuoc laparoscopic surgery" (author Tu Thanh - Nghe An) and the city "Ngan song Ma to make hydroelectric power" (author Trong Thang - Thanh Hoa); 3 Bronze Medals belonged to authors Bui Quang Thanh (Ha Tinh), Truong Ba Vinh (Thanh Hoa), Nguyen Huu Hai (Thua Thien Hue); 5 consolation prizes: Hoang An, Phan Van Bau (Quang Binh), Trong Thang (Thanh Hoa), Tran Huong (Ha Tinh), Dang Viet (Nghe An). Two team prizes went to the Nghe An Literature and Arts Association and the Thanh Hoa Literature and Arts Association.

Also at the opening ceremony of this festival, the Thua Thien Hue Literature and Arts Association received the Flag to host the 20th North Central Province Art Photography Festival.
After the opening of the exhibition, the Organizing Committee held a discussion, evaluated and learned from the quality of the works and the organization. This is the first time the North Central Photo Festival has been judged publicly and held an exhibition right after the judging.
Also in the Festival program, for the first time, a one-day marathon photo contest was held, taking photos in Nghe An province. After one day of launching, the Organizing Committee received 196 works from 66 photographers from 6 provinces to participate in the Festival. On the evening of August 9, the Jury publicly evaluated on the computer and selected the 6 best works to award equal prizes at the festival. Notably, in the marathon photo contest, 4 authors from Nghe An won prizes: Xuan Nhuong with the work "Movement", Dinh Lam with the work "Working", Quoc Hien with the work "On the street", Phan Van Toan (Nghe An Newspaper) with the work "After the judging day"; Ho Ngoc Son (Thua Thien - Hue) with the work "Soccer"; Luu Trong Thang (Thanh Hoa) with the work "Joy".
This year’s North Central Province Art Photography Festival is considered a festival with many high-quality, consistent works, demonstrating the region’s clear progress. In particular, the organization and judging process has been innovated.
