Opening of Vietnam Book Festival and Book Exhibition Week

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of April 24, the People's Committee of Nghe An province organized the opening ceremony of Vietnam Book Festival (April 21) and organized a Book Exhibition Week at Nghe An Library.

Comrades: Ho Duc Phoc - Provincial Party Secretary; Le Quang Huy - Deputy Provincial Party Secretary; Dinh Thi Le Thanh - Member of the Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended and cut the ribbon to open the ceremony. Also attending the ceremony were representatives of leaders of departments, branches and unions and a large number of readers.

The book festival was organized with the participation of 8 publishing units, printers, bookstores - distributors and 12 book sponsors. With more than 20 booths including thousands of books beautifully displayed, richly on topics such as: the life and revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh; culture and revolutionary tradition of Nghe An homeland; protection of sea and island sovereignty. At the opening ceremony, activities took place such as a competition to feel and learn from books among primary schools in Vinh city; buying and author signing books; building a fund to support soldiers protecting sea and islands. In particular, the book "Songs sent to the sea" by 179 authors published by Nghe An Literature and Arts Association in early 2015 was introduced by the organizers and made an impression at the ceremony.

Provincial leaders presented books to typical groups and individuals to read and follow the books.

Readers contribute money to build the Fund to support sea and island soldiers.

At the ceremony, the Provincial Party Secretary, provincial leaders and sponsors presented books to groups, families and individuals who are exemplary in reading and following the books such as: Keng Du Border Guard Station (Ky Son), Prison No. 6 (Ministry of Public Security), Ngoc Lam Border Guard Station (Thanh Chuong), Dao Van family in Luu Son commune (Do Luong), Cao Son Primary School (Anh Son), Mr. Nguyen Van Lac in Hamlet 2, Bac Thanh commune (Yen Thanh) and several other schools with a total value of hundreds of millions of VND. In particular, Provincial Party Secretary Ho Duc Phoc personally presented over 1,000 books of various types.
