On the evening of November 12, the opening ceremony of "Russian Cultural Days in Vietnam 2013" took place at the Opera House (Hanoi).

This activity is part of the cultural cooperation program between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

The Russian Cultural Days in Vietnam took place on the occasion of the 96th anniversary of the October Revolution (November 7, 1917 - November 7, 2013) and the State visit of Russian President V. Putin to Vietnam.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, President Truong Tan Sang affirmed that Vietnam and the Russian Federation are bound together by a long history of relations and loyal friendship. For the Vietnamese people, the brotherly Russian people are sincere and close friends.

The President stressed that Vietnam always remembers and is grateful for the valuable support and assistance that the Russian people have given Vietnam in the past struggle for national independence and reunification as well as in the current cause of national construction. Cultural cooperation plays a particularly important role in the overall Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership.

For the Vietnamese people, the great Russian culture is extremely close and intimate. Songs and melodies, works of literature and art that live forever with time, imbued with the Russian soul, Russian values ​​are known and cherished by many generations of Vietnamese people.

The President emphasized that the Russian Cultural Days in Vietnam, held on the occasion of Russian President V. Putin's visit to Vietnam, is an important event, contributing practically to strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia and the traditional solidarity and friendship between the two peoples.

Art performances by talented artists, photo exhibitions, installation art, and Russian Film Days are great opportunities for Vietnamese audiences and international friends living and working here to experience and understand more deeply the rich and unique Russian culture.

Russian President V. Putin stated that the relationship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation is growing stronger in many areas, including investment, science and technology, and education. This close and good cooperation is based on a solid foundation of traditional relations and mutual understanding.

President V. Putin believes that cooperation between Russia and Vietnam in the coming time will continue to be strengthened and strongly developed for the common interests of the two peoples and two countries.

The art performance program took place with the participation of Russian chamber music artists such as: Alexander Polyanichko, Evgenhia Smirnova, Andrey Valenti...; the Timophei Docsiser Quintet and the Russian National Academic Folk Choir MEPyatnitsky; the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra...

Many activities in the program "Russian Cultural Days in Vietnam" were organized. The exhibition "Russian Beauties and the National Soul" at Ho Chi Minh Museum, with about 200 artifacts, introduced the beauty of Russian handicrafts through photos, displayed embroidery (traditional Pavalovo scarves), wooden handicrafts, Matrioshka dolls, traditional costumes of Russian women from the 18th to the 20th century.

At the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, the exhibition Nicolai Roerich - Linking Peoples displays 63 copies of works from the State Museum of Oriental Art in Moscow, one of the largest museums in Europe. This is also considered one of the best collections of Nicholas Roerich's works in Russia and the world./.
