Opening of the exhibition "Uncle Ton with the Vietnam People's Army"

On the occasion of the 127th anniversary of President Ton Duc Thang's birthday (August 20, 1888/August 20, 2015), on the morning of August 12, at the Museum of the Armed Forces of the Southeast Region, the Political Department of Military Region 7 in coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City organized the opening of an exhibition with the theme: "Uncle Ton with the Vietnam People's Army".

Many officers and soldiers of Military Region 7 and people of Ho Chi Minh City visited the exhibition.

The exhibition displays more than 100 photos, documents, and artifacts, focusing on highlighting Uncle Ton's special feelings and attention to the task of building the Vietnam People's Army in general and the armed forces of Military Region 7 in particular in maintaining and strengthening the Party's leadership over the Army; building forces; improving living conditions, training cadres, ideological education, training and closely combining practical experience with military theory...

The exhibition also introduces an overview of the birth, fighting, victory, and growth of the Army over the past 70 years; the affection of Army officers and soldiers for Uncle Ton...

Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Major General Tran Huu Tai, Deputy Chief of Political Department of Military Region 7, said: “The exhibition is an opportunity for officers and soldiers to deeply remember Uncle Ton's contributions and teachings to the Vietnam People's Army, including the Military Region 7, thereby arousing the honor and pride of officers and soldiers; promoting traditions, cultivating virtues, training talents, raising vigilance, being ready to fight, fulfilling duties and tasks well, building a strong and comprehensive unit, building and firmly protecting the Fatherland”.

The exhibition runs until September 20.
