Opening of the world's largest aerospace exhibition

The MAKS 2013 International Aviation and Space Salon, one of the world's largest civil and military aviation technology exhibitions, opened on August 27 in the city of Zhukovsk, a suburb of Moscow.

MAKS 2013 Exhibition set a record for the number of participating companies with thousands of domestic enterprises and 277 companies from 44 countries around the world.

For the first time, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will visit MAKS and will speak at the International Aviation Congress, an event also taking place for the first time within the framework of the exhibition.

Within the framework of the exhibition, delegates will attend the 6th European Congress on Aviation Transport, an international scientific and technical symposium, and listen to reports at dozens of roundtables and forums on aviation development, aircraft manufacturing and aviation science.

The most interesting point of the MAKS 2013 exhibition was the performances of hundreds of aircraft from Russian and international squadrons. The Russian Ministry of Defense was represented at the show by four aerobatic squadrons: "Russian Knights" flying Su-27 aircraft, "Swifts" with MiG-29 aircraft, "Russian Phoenixes" with Su-27 aircraft and "Eagles" flying Mi-28N aircraft, also known as "Night Hunters."

Teams from Latvia, China, France and Switzerland will also compete in the skies over Zhukovsk.

In addition, guests of the Exhibition can also evaluate firsthand the products of the Russian aviation industry in the ground exhibitions, the features and technical specifications of Su, MiG, Tu, Yak aircraft lines, Mi, Ka helicopters and many other flying equipment are introduced in detail to the viewers by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The exhibition will last six days and will be open to the public for free on one day only, August 30./.
