Solemn opening of the 7th Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union
This morning, December 29, in Hanoi, the solemn session of the 7th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union, term 2014 - 2019, took place.
The Congress was attended by 800 delegates who are outstanding cadres, members and outstanding young people in all fields from all parts of the country of 54 ethnic groups; delegates representing young religious dignitaries, young armed forces, young businessmen, young intellectuals, workers, farmers, Vietnamese youth studying, working and living abroad...

The Congress also welcomed 200 invited delegates, including leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly, Government, Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, central departments, ministries, branches and organizations; Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; Heroes of the Armed Forces, Heroes of Labor; leaders of the Association from different periods...
In the solemn session this morning, the Congress will hear presentations on the goals and directions of the Association's work and the youth movement for the 2014-2019 term; speeches by Congress delegates; the introduction of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Federation, 7th term (2014-2019 term) and especially speeches by Party and State leaders for the Vietnam Youth Federation.
The Congress has the task of reviewing and evaluating the implementation results of the Resolution of the 6th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union (term 2009 - 2014); determining the goals, directions, and tasks of the Union and youth movements for the term 2014 - 2019, building a strong Vietnam Youth Union, widely gathering patriotic youths, together with the entire Party, the entire army, and the entire people to firmly build and defend the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.
Previously, the Congress consulted and introduced 157 people to join the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, term VII; Consulted and introduced 9 people to join the Central Inspection Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, term VII, 2014 - 2019.
The 7th Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union also held its first meeting.
