Archaeological excavation at the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long - Hanoi

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has allowed the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center to coordinate with the Institute of Archaeology to excavate at the Thang Long - Hanoi Imperial Citadel Center, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi City.

The excavation will start from January 15 to December 30, 2016. The excavation area is 980m². The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism assigned Mr. Tong Trung Tin, Institute of Archaeology to preside over the excavation.

During the excavation period, the licensed agencies are responsible for disseminating information to the people about the protection of local cultural heritage and not announcing official conclusions without the agreement of the competent authority and the Department of Cultural Heritage.

The Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center must be responsible for preserving and reporting to the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism on plans to protect and promote the value of these artifacts collected during the excavation process.

After the end of the excavation, within 3 months at the latest, the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center and the Institute of Archaeology must have a preliminary report and after 1 year, a scientific report must be sent to the Department of Cultural Heritage. When announcing the results of the excavation, the licensed agencies must discuss with the Department of Cultural Heritage./.
