Exploiting traditional art
(Baonghean) - Currently, in our province, there are 24 provincial and regional festivals lasting from January to November. Each region has its own identity and culture, contributing to creating a festival space imbued with national identity. However, bringing traditional art forms to serve tourists and people in festivals is a concern of many localities.
As the homeland of the folk songs of the Fabric Ward, to preserve and promote the folk songs of the Fabric Ward, in 2006,
Especially every year, on the occasion of Sen Village Festival, Nam Dan organizes the Vi Phuong Vai Singing Festival between the folk song clubs in the whole district at the district Cultural and Sports Center. However, a regional-scale festival held on the 15th day of the first lunar month - the Mai King Festival - lacks Vi Phuong Vai Singing.

Mr. Tran Xuan Giap - Director of the Cultural and Sports Center of Nam Dan district said: "The idea of including Vi Phuong Vai singing in the festival part of the Mai King Festival was implemented once a few years ago but was not very successful, because: Vi singing is an ancient tune, simple rhythm, not very attractive, sung in a call-and-response style, without accompaniment so it is not attractive to tourists.
Currently, in the district, there are 5 folk song clubs, vi singing, and fabric guilds (of which 3 clubs operate effectively: Kim Lien Vi singing club, Thi Tran folk song and fabric guild club, and Xuan Hoa folk song club). In my opinion, at the Mai King Festival, if possible, not only vi singing but also folk songs and ho should be included to serve tourists. Because folk songs and ho have rhythm, the music is also more attractive, especially the new melodies of folk songs, of river songs that are imbued with human feelings. In the coming time, with the functions and tasks of the center, we will make proposals to the District People's Committee on this issue. Because this is one of the best ways to promote folk songs, ho, and vi dam to the masses, people, and especially tourists from all over the world."
If Nam Dan is the land of the simple fabric guild melodies, then the ancient land of Hoan Chau (now Dien Chau) is the homeland considered the cradle of Nghe An ca tru. According to Mr. Tran Sy Hong - Deputy Head of the district's Department of Culture, Information and Tourism, Dien Chau ca tru has existed since the previous centuries but was most popular around the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. Initially, from the Tran Map family theater troupe in Dinh Chay (Dien Yen) - this was a famous theater troupe at that time, many times invited to perform singing in the royal palace, the lord's palace and was awarded a royal decree by King Khai Dinh (still preserved at Tran Map's temple). Due to many different reasons, Dien Yen ca tru in particular, Dien Chau in general gradually faded away over time.
However, in August 2002, Dien Chau Ca Tru Club was officially established under the direction of teacher Nguyen Nghia Nguyen, teacher Tran Cong Hoi in Dien Yen, Dan Day artist - Mr. Tran Hai in Dien Lien and a singing group from Dien Lien and Dien Yen communes. Gradually, Dien Chau Ca Tru Club has grown, developed and attracted more and more members. The oldest person to join the Club is actor Tran Hai (Dien Lien Ca Tru Club) who is 100 years old. The good news is that in recent years, when coming to Cuong Temple Festival on the occasion of the full moon of the second lunar month, visitors from all over the world have enjoyed the Ca Tru art performance program of members of Dien Chau Ca Tru Club.
Regarding the Cuong Temple Festival, which allows you to enjoy Ca Tru, some other festivals such as the Duc Hoang Temple Festival (Yen Thanh) organizes the exchange of Tuong singing between clubs, the Hang Bua Festival (Quy Chau) organizes Nhuon singing - one of the unique melodies of the Thai people in Nghe An... However, bringing traditional art forms to serve the people in festivals to create a separate cultural space to attract more and more tourists to the festival is a concern of local authorities. It is thought that it is time for the provincial tourism industry to have specific directions to better exploit this potential when it is being neglected!.
