On the morning of July 17, at the Nghe An Provincial Library, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An Province coordinated with the Provincial Blind Association to organize the opening ceremony of a reading room for the visually impaired. This activity is part of the program to celebrate the 28th anniversary of the establishment of the Nghe An Provincial Blind Association (July 17, 1985 - July 17, 2013).

This activity is part of the program to celebrate the 28th anniversary of the establishment of the Nghe An Provincial Blind Association (July 17, 1985 - July 17, 2013).
Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province, Nguyen Minh Duc - Chairman of the Provincial Association of the Blind, and members of the Provincial Association of the Blind, Vinh City.
Opening of a reading room for the visually impaired at the Provincial Library
Currently, the Nghe An Association for the Blind has 2,481 members in 19/20 districts and towns, of which 1,300 members have learned Braille, computers and 20 Braille bookcases at all levels of the association. However, access to books and information for the blind is still limited due to the small number of books, monotony and difficulties in traveling.
In order to improve the spiritual and cultural life of the blind, ensure equality in contributing to and enjoying public cultural services, including books, newspapers and libraries, Nghe An Provincial Library opens reading and borrowing rooms for the blind every day of the week, starting from July 17.
Mr. Dao Tam Tinh - Director of Nghe An Provincial Library awarded 10 free lifetime reading cards to members of the Association for the Blind of Vinh province and city.
To serve readers, the provincial library has prepared 220 Braille books, 840 audiobooks in a variety of genres such as psychology, society, politics, law, natural sciences, languages, etc. In addition, the reading room is equipped with 2 amplifiers and 2 audiobooks to provide maximum support for the visually impaired to access documents. The provincial library will issue free reading and borrowing cards for life to all organizations and individuals in need; serving through the blind associations of districts and cities in mobile and on-site forms.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province emphasized that opening a reading room for the blind is important in developing a reading culture, especially a reading culture for the blind and ensuring equal rights in the fields of study, research and contribution of the blind to society, implementing the teaching "Disabled but not useless" of beloved Uncle Ho.
At the opening ceremony, Mr. Dao Tam Tinh - Director of Nghe An Provincial Library awarded 10 free lifetime reading cards to members of the Vinh Provincial and City Blind Association.
