(Baonghean.vn) - Recently, a team of doctors from the Provincial Eye Hospital came to provide free eye examinations, consult on eye disease treatment, and dispense free medicine to the poor, the elderly, and the disabled with eye diseases in Quy Chau district.

Master, Doctor Nguyen Huu Dung, Head of the Provincial Eye Hospital's Steering Committee, said: From June 20-24, the delegation coordinated with 4 commune health stations in Quy Chau district, including Chau Phong, Chau Hoan, Dien Lam, Chau Thuan communes and Tan Lac town to screen and classify over 500 patients who are elderly members and those with eye diseases. Of these, 300 people were given free medicine, 100 people with diseases such as cataracts, pterygium, entropion, conjunctivitis, and cornea were indicated for surgery. These patients were operated on by doctors according to the province's blindness liberation project, the East Asia Vision Program in Nghe An. This activity has profound meaning, is a humane and humanitarian work to bring light to the elderly, prevent blindness, help the elderly live happily, live healthily, and live usefully for their families and society.
It is known that from June 25 to 28, the delegation continued to organize screening and provide free medicine for people with eye diseases in the remaining 8 communes in the mountainous district of Quy Chau.
