(Baonghean.vn) - The 2018 AFF Cup is the first year that each team will play 2 home matches and 2 away matches. A total of 12 stadiums have been selected to host the group stage matches.
The 2018 AFF Cup will have 10 teams divided into two groups of 5 teams and will play a round robin. Each team will play two home matches and two away matches. Below is a list of 12 stadiums in the 9 countries that will host the 2018 AFF Cup group stage matches.
My Dinh Stadium

This is a national stadium with a capacity of over 40,000 seats, the second largest in Vietnam (after Can Tho Stadium - 45,000 seats). My Dinh Stadium officially opened on September 2, 2003, hosting the first match between the Vietnam U23 team and Shanghai Shenhua Club (China).
At the AFF Cup 2018, My Dinh Stadium will host the match between Vietnam and Malaysia on November 16. This is the place that witnessed the Vietnam team under the leadership of coach Calisto win the AFF Cup exactly 10 years ago after Le Cong Vinh scored the golden goal. However, this is also the place that witnessed the sad memories of Vietnamese football in the following AFF Cups.

Hang Day Stadium is located on Trinh Hoai Duc Street, Hanoi, with a capacity of about 22,500 seats. Before My Dinh Stadium was built, Hang Day was the venue for matches of the Vietnam men's football team as well as the women's and Olympic teams.
This is also the place to hold many sporting and cultural events of Hanoi and Vietnam. Between 2000 and 2005, Hang Day Stadium was renamed Hanoi Stadium. Hang Day Stadium is currently the home ground of Hanoi FC and Viettel Club.
In the past, Hang Day Stadium witnessed the resounding victory of Vietnam national team against Thailand with a score of 3-0 in the semi-final of Tiger Cup 1998. At AFF Cup 2018, Hang Day Stadium will host the match between Vietnam and Cambodia on November 24.

This is the national stadium of Malaysia, located in the national sports complex in the south of the capital Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). Bukit Jalil has a capacity of more than 87,000 seats. This is a multi-purpose stadium, inaugurated in 1996 to host the 1998 Commonwealth Games.
This is the stadium that witnessed the extremely difficult matches of Vietnamese football under the pressure of the audience and referees. In the AFF Cup 2018, Bukit Jalil was the venue for the matches between Malaysia, Myanmar and Laos.

Rajamangala Stadium is considered the cathedral of Thai football, located in the Hua Mak Sports Complex, Hua Mak Subdistrict, Bang Kapi, Bangkok. The stadium officially opened in 1998, initially with a capacity of 65,000 spectators, later reduced to 50,000. Because Timor Leste does not have a standard stadium, Thailand will play up to 3 matches at Rajamangala Stadium. In addition to hosting Timor Leste on November 9, Thailand will meet Indonesia (November 17) and Singapore (November 25) at Rajamangala.

This is a multi-purpose stadium, located in the Bung Karno Sports Complex in the capital city of Jakarta, Indonesia. It is also the home stadium of Persija Jakartar FC. Opened in 1962, the stadium had an initial capacity of 110,000 seats.
The capacity has been reduced after two renovations: the first time in 2006, down to 88,083 to serve the 2007 Asian Cup; the second time in late 2016, down to 77,127 seats. With such a capacity, along with the sound resonance, Bung Karno always explodes every time Indonesia takes the field.
Gelora Bung Karno Stadium was once the 7th largest football stadium in the world. It is now the 26th largest football stadium in the world and the 8th largest in Asia. The stadium's record attendance was around 150,000 in 1985. At the 2018 AFF Cup, Indonesia will host Timor Leste and the Philippines at this stadium.

With a seating capacity of 55,000, the Singapore National Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium with a retractable dome structure, used mainly for football matches. The Singapore National Stadium currently holds the record for the largest dome structure in the world with a span of 310m.
Its retractable roof takes about 25 minutes to open or close. The weatherproof roof blocks the sun's heat, providing shade and protecting spectators from heat, humidity and rain.
At night, the two roofs can be retracted to create giant projection screens on both sides, which can display images such as the national flag during the Singapore National Day parade. At the AFF Cup 2018, the stadium hosted the match between Singapore and Indonesia and Timor Leste.
Olympic Stadium (Cambodia)

Opened in 1964, the stadium has a capacity of 50,000. Despite its "Olympic" name, the stadium has never hosted an Olympic match. Cambodia will host Malaysia and Laos at the Olympic Stadium on November 8 and 20.

Thuwunna Youth Training Centre Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Yangon, the former capital of Myanmar. With 32,000 seats, it often hosts national and international football matches and athletics competitions. Thuwunna was the venue for the match between Myanmar and Vietnam on November 20.

This is a multi-purpose stadium, located in the Lao National Sports Complex in the capital Vientiane. The stadium is about 20 kilometers from the center of the capital. The stadium has a maximum capacity of about 24,000 seats, mainly organizing men's football and athletics.
The matches between Laos, Vietnam and Myanmar will take place here on November 8 and November 16. According to the comments of reporters working in Laos, the grass of this field is quite hard and not good. It will certainly affect the quality of the Vietnam team's opening match at the AFF Cup 2018.
