Vinamilk's leaders have repeatedly affirmed that they will always prioritize science and technology, applying new scientific and technical advancements to production in order to increase product variety and quality, improve designs and packaging, and select appropriate technologies for new products; thereby enhancing competitiveness against similar products in the market.
Over the past five years, Vinamilk has invested more than 6,500 billion VND from its own capital to build many factories with a high level of automation, on par with regional and global standards. Vinamilk's milk production plants are equipped with a UHT milk production line featuring modern equipment and leading-edge production technology, automated and closed-loop, from raw material input to product output.
From its first two dairy factories, Thong Nhat Dairy Factory and Truong Tho Dairy Factory, Vinamilk now has a total of 13 factories nationwide, stretching from North to South, with the most prominent being the world's most modern liquid milk production super-factory in Binh Duong.
This is one of the few factories in the world with the most advanced automated technology that Tetra Pak has ever implemented. With a construction area of 20 hectares, the capacity of phase 1 is over 400 million liters of milk per year, and phase 2 is planned for investment in 2017 to increase capacity to 800 million liters of milk per year.
Currently in Vietnam, Vinamilk holds the leading market share in the liquid milk industry. In 2016, Vinamilk is estimated to have supplied more than 7 billion dairy products of various types to consumers. Internationally, Vinamilk products are currently available in 43 countries worldwide.
According to industry experts, along with its goal of sustainable development and international expansion, Vinamilk has continuously innovated, always placing consumer interests at the heart of its business by consistently providing solutions to ensure productivity and product quality. With the inauguration of Vietnam's most modern dairy super-factory, Vinamilk is gradually realizing its dream of putting the Vinamilk brand on the global dairy map and becoming a leading trusted brand for millions of Vietnamese families and many other countries.
Fresh milk at the factory, after being checked for quality and passed through measuring and filtering equipment, is transferred into a system of refrigerated storage tanks (150 m3/tank).
From the cold storage tanks, raw fresh milk goes through several processing stages: centrifugation to separate bacteria, homogenization, pasteurization, cooling down to 4 degrees Celsius, and then transferring to tanks ready for UHT sterilization. The centrifuge helps remove harmful bacteria and microbial spores.
UHT sterilization: An advanced sterilization system heats milk up to 140°C, then rapidly cools it down to 25°C, preserving its natural flavor and nutritional components, vitamins, and minerals. The milk is then transferred to a sterilization tank awaiting aseptic filling into sterile packaging.
Thanks to a combination of factors: advanced processing technology, UHT sterilization technology, and aseptic filling technology, the product can retain its fresh taste for 6 months without the need for preservatives.
At the factory, LGV robots operate automatically, transporting pallets of finished products to the smart warehouse area. Additionally, LGVs automatically transport rolls of packaging and packaging materials to the machines. The LGV robot system can recharge its batteries without human intervention.
The factory also boasts a leading smart warehouse system in Vietnam, covering 6,000 m2 with 20 entry/exit lanes, measuring 105 meters in length and 35 meters in height, comprising 17 levels of shelving with a capacity of 27,168 storage lots. Import and export are automated with 15 Rail-Guided Vehicles (RGVs) transporting finished product pallets into the warehouse and 8 Stacker Cranes arranging pallets onto the racking system. Inventory management is based on Wamas software.
The plant's operating system is based on the Tetra Plant Master automation solution, allowing for the connection and integration of the entire plant from raw materials to finished products. This enables control over all plant operations, continuous monitoring, and quality control. The Tetra Plant Master system also provides all the necessary data to help the plant continuously improve production and maintenance operations.
Furthermore, Wamas' warehouse management system integrates with ERP management systems and Tetra Plant Master automation solutions, providing seamless and efficient factory operations across the entire company, from production planning and raw material procurement to finished product warehousing.
