"Discovering" the precious antiquities of Nghe An Museum

(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An Museum currently preserves more than 25,000 valuable artifacts. This is the result of nearly 40 years of collecting, preserving, and preserving. According to the plan, after completing the project to build the interior and exterior of Nghe An Museum, these artifacts will be displayed for people to visit.

Thousands of artifacts are being kept at Nghe An Museum, the result of many years of collecting, preserving, and preserving. Most of the artifacts were found in Nghe An through archaeological site searches.

These are precious artifacts found at the Vac village archaeological site. The terracotta artifacts, dating back over 2,000 years, are traces of ancient Vietnamese people.

Nghe An Museum is preserving more than 40 bronze drums. Most of them were discovered in 5 mountainous districts, along both banks of Hieu River and were discovered randomly during the process of production, irrigation, transportation, construction, sand and gravel making or while digging for gold. The remaining drums were discovered along the Lam River during the first and second excavations at the Lang Vac archaeological site, Nghia Hoa Commune, Nghia Dan District.

The number of artifacts that the museum has collected and preserved so far is more than 25,246 documents and artifacts (including 17,464 artifacts, 6,671 documents, images, 1,111 specimens of flora and fauna) from many historical periods, meeting most of the needs for research and display. The artifacts include many materials such as stone, bronze, iron, terracotta, ceramics, bones, paper, fabric, stuffed animals, rattan, bamboo, leaves, wood, etc.

Belonging to the resistance theme, the museum currently preserves many weapons from different eras. Most of them are guns.

The sword collection is also very diverse.

In particular, Nghe An Museum is currently preserving a relic box, which is considered a "national treasure", the only one in Vietnam and one of three remaining in Southeast Asia.

The relic box was found inside Nhan Thap, Hong Long, Nam Dan.

This embroidery was found in Con Cuong. The hand-embroidered product is an extremely valuable artifact. Currently, the Vietnam History Museum also has similar embroidery paintings but the size is much smaller than the embroidery paintings kept in Nghe An.

1,111 animal and plant specimens are also being preserved, promising to attract a large number of visitors because it fully reflects the flora and fauna in Nghe An.

The giant fossil elephant skeleton is thousands of years old, because some bones such as the vertebrae, shoulder bones, and frontal bones have shown signs of fossilization.
