Discover the ancient temple with 46 royal decrees

(Baonghean.vn) - After a long time, the temple worshiping the Grand Duke of Tan Nguyen Canh Hoan in Trang Son commune (Do Luong) still retains its ancient appearance. Not only is it a place to worship the Grand Duke of Tan Nguyen Canh Hoan, but this temple also preserves 46 royal decrees and many other precious artifacts such as robes, horizontal lacquered boards, parallel sentences, ancient bells...

Temple of Tan Quoc Cong Nguyen Canh Hoan in Trang Son commune, Do Luong district. He was a general of the Le Dynasty, holding the position of Minister of War, with the title of Thai Pho, and was later posthumously awarded the title of Tan Quoc Cong.

In September 1576, the Grand Tutor of Tan Quoc Cong Nguyen Canh Hoan was captured and killed by the Mac army in Thang Long citadel. In 1602, his main temple was built in present-day Trang Son commune. In 1991, the temple was ranked as a National Cultural Relic. Through the ups and downs of history and time, the temple still retains its ancient red-roofed gate.

Outside the temple gate, the ancient architecture is still preserved with statues of generals of the Grand Tutor of Tan Quoc Cong Nguyen Canh Hoan built into the wall, creating a majestic look for the temple.

Right at the temple's main gate, an ancient stone stele clearly records the achievements of the Grand Tutor of Tan Quoc Cong Nguyen Canh Hoan and his generals.

Currently, at the temple of the Grand Tutor of Tan Quoc Cong Nguyen Canh Hoan, 46 royal decrees are still preserved. In the photo: one of the royal decrees granted by Emperor Tong Uyen to Nguyen Canh Hoan in 1632 with the content: The first year of Canh Hung 1740, the king specially promoted him to the title of Kim Tu Vinh Loc Dai Phu Binh Bo Thuong Thu, Grand Tutor of Tan Quoc Cong, who had contributed to protecting the country and the people, was talented, intelligent, virtuous, upright, and steadfast, and devoted himself to the cause of restoration. Now he was awarded the title "Long Trach Pho Hue Dai Vuong".

And in 1924, quite a long time after his death (he died in 1576), King Khai Dinh's 9th year also granted a royal decree to the Grand Tutor of Tan Quoc Cong Nguyen Canh Hoan for his contributions in protecting the people.

Besides the royal decrees, the temple also preserves four ancient horizontal lacquered boards. In the photo: the horizontal lacquered board with the words Duc Ky Thinh is placed solemnly in the central hall of the temple.

In addition to the 46 royal decrees that are still preserved, this ancient temple still has an intact poem in Chinese characters by the Grand Tutor of Tan Quoc Cong. Mr. Nguyen Canh Kham - Head of the relic management board said: This is a prayer written by the Grand Tutor of Tan Quoc Cong Nguyen Canh Hoan himself to express his love for the people and his patriotism in the face of the people living in misery and suffering.

This ancient bell is from the same period as the temple.

At the temple, people displayed 18 elephants symbolizing 18 dukes - those who fought side by side with the Grand Tutor of Tan Quoc Cong Nguyen Canh Hoan in his career for the people.

Every year, there are many important holidays at this temple, but the biggest is still the death anniversary of the Grand Duke of Tan Nguyen Canh Hoan on the 15th day of the 9th lunar month every year. This is considered a festival for Nguyen Canh's descendants in particular and the people of Trang Son and Do Luong in general.
