Urgently complete the housing support program for poor households

(Baonghean.vn) -This afternoon, December 10, the Provincial People's Committee held a working session to review the implementation results and discuss solutions to completely complete the project to support poor households with housing in the province according to Decision No. 167/2008/QD-TTg.

According to Decision 3039/QD.UBND-CN dated August 10, 2012 of the Provincial People's Committee on adjusting and supplementing poor households receiving housing support according to Decisions No. 167/2008/QD-TTg and No. 67/2010/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister, the total number of poor households eligible for housing support in the whole province is 28,906 households. However, after Decision No. 3039/QD.UBND-CN was issued, 9 districts reported that 569 households continued to withdraw (including Yen Thanh: 223 households, Ky Son: 108 households, Tan Ky: 105, Anh Son: 75 households, Nghi Loc: 43 households; Do Luong: 10 households, Nghia Dan: 3 households, Nam Dan: 1 household), so the list of poor households receiving housing support in the province is 28,337 households.

The total number of completed houses as of November 15, 2012 was 28,043 (reaching 99.0%). As of November 30, 2012, 9 districts had completed the program, including: Anh Son, Dien Chau, Do Luong, Nam Dan, Quy Hop, Tan Ky, Thanh Chuong, Thai Hoa Town and Vinh City. The remaining 10/19 districts are still continuing to implement with a total of 294 households needing support. Some districts have a relatively large number of unfinished households such as: Nghi Loc (87 households), Tuong Duong (48 households), Con Cuong (38 households), Yen Thanh (38 households), Nghia Dan (26 households).

At the working session, the Provincial Steering Committee on the program to support poor households in housing requested that districts that have completed the program need to conduct quality inspections of works, acceptance records confirming the completion of housing construction and putting it into use, and settlement records; the Departments of Construction, Finance, and Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs continue to organize inspection teams, urge and guide districts to complete the program, especially paying attention to districts with a large number of unfinished projects, including Nghi Loc, Yen Thanh, Tuong Duong, Con Cuong and Nghia Dan.
