Urgently repair damaged road surface of National Highway 1A

“March 21, 2015, Nghe An Electronic Newspaper (www.baonghean.vn) posted an article "The newly put into use National Highway 1A has been seriously damaged" reflecting "At km 404 National Highway 1A in Quynh Giang commune - Quynh Luu district in the direction of Hanoi - Vinh, there is a section of about 50 meters long with seriously eroded road surface. In particular, there is a deep landslide in the middle of the road, approximately 1 meter long and up to 0.15 meters deep, causing many vehicles to have difficulty in traffic".

To help you better understand the damage on National Highway 1A at km 404 of National Highway 1A through Quynh Giang Commune, Quynh Luu District as mentioned in the article, we would like to clearly present the incident as follows:

When Package 3.1, the investment project to build and renovate National Highway 1A through Cau Giat town, was assigned by the Ministry of Transport to Project Management Board 85 as the investor and the Traffic Construction Corporation 4 as the contractor, had basically been completed, at 2:00 a.m. on December 24, 2014, a traffic accident occurred. The truck with license plate 37C-126.65 running from Hanoi to Vinh crashed into the median strip and overturned, all the diesel in the engine spilled and flowed onto the BTN road.

Immediately after the accident, the Project Management Board, the supervising consultant and the construction contractor were present to make a record with the presence of local authorities, and at the same time agreed on a treatment plan such as collecting the oil and using materials to absorb the oil, roughening the surface, and installing divider blocks to ensure normal traffic. Because the oil could spread further, the supervising consultant and the contractor were requested to monitor the quality of the asphalt road surface in the area where the diesel oil had spilled. If there is any damage, promptly notify the Project Management Board to take timely repair measures if there is any damage.

On March 17, 2015, the Supervision Consultant reported on the peeling of the BNT road surface. On March 18, 2015, the National Highway 1A Project Management Board - Project Management Board 85 and the locality had a meeting, inspected the site and agreed on a plan to repair the peeling BNT road surface. Because repairing the BTN road surface requires mobilizing paving equipment, rollers, human resources, especially the hot asphalt mixing station must be mobilized again until March 23, 2015, the peeling locations are handled to ensure quality.

Above are the developments and causes of the partial damage to the asphalt road surface of National Highway 1A at Km 404+284 through Quynh Giang Commune, Quynh Luu District.
