The Cho Ray - Phnom Penh Hospital project commenced construction in May 2010, with a total investment of approximately US$40 million in the first phase. The hospital has 200 beds and a full range of modern, standard specialties: internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics, emergency room, general outpatient clinic, diagnostic imaging, and laboratory services. In phase II, the project will expand to include an additional 300 beds.
The opening of Cho Ray Hospital - Phnom Penh will help alleviate the burden on existing hospitals in Cambodia, gradually meeting the healthcare needs of the people, primarily in Phnom Penh and the surrounding areas. It will also provide an environment for Vietnamese and Cambodian doctors, professors, and medical professionals to share experiences, exchange expertise, and update their knowledge of modern and advanced medical practices.
This is a successful collaboration between Ho Chi Minh City and Phnom Penh, aiming to invest in a comprehensive general hospital offering a full range of medical services to meet the needs of the Cambodian people in general and the people of Phnom Penh in particular.
