Inauguration of the Temple of King Mai's Mother
(Baonghean) -On the morning of February 21 (ie January 12 of the lunar calendar), Nam Thai commune (Nam Dan) held the inauguration ceremony of the temple worshiping the mother of King Mai.
King Mai's mother's real name was Tran Thi Doi, born and raised in Mai Lam village, Mai Phu commune, Thien Loc district, now Mai Phu commune, Loc Ha district, Ha Tinh province. To make a living, she left Mai Phu village to go to Con Chen cave, Ngoc Trung village, Dong Liet commune (now hamlet 1, Nam Thai commune, Nam Dan district) to make a living and gave birth to King Mai. To commemorate her merits, in July 2012, the Party Committee, government and people of Nam Thai commune, philanthropists and descendants of the Mai family across the country united, joined hands and contributed to build a temple to King Mai's mother right on the old ground at Con Chen cave, where 13 centuries ago King Mai's mother made a living, gave birth and raised the hero Mai Thuc Loan.
After nearly 7 months of construction, the temple has been completed and put into use on the occasion of the 1300th anniversary of the Hoan Chau uprising and the Mai King Temple Festival in 2013. This is a project that mobilized entirely from socialized capital, expressing the heart and affection for the person who gave birth to, raised, and nurtured the great ambition of the national hero who fought off foreign invaders and established the independent Van An country in the 13th century.
