Inauguration of the memorial stele for Lao and Vietnamese martyrs

The memorial stele for Lao and Vietnamese martyrs has just been inaugurated in Lang Khang, Na Phau village, Buala Pha district, Khammouane province, Laos.

On the afternoon of May 29, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Quang Binh province coordinated with the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union of Khammouane province and sponsors including the Organizing Committee of the Truong Son Love Program - Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper, Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh Trail Tradition Association held the inauguration ceremony of the memorial stele for Lao and Vietnamese heroes and martyrs who sacrificed their lives on Lao soil, at Lang Khang, Na Phau village, Buala Pha district, Khammouane province, Lao People's Democratic Republic.

In a solemn and emotional atmosphere, delegates from the two provinces of Khammouane and Quang Binh offered incense sticks to commemorate the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence, peace and freedom of the nation.

After the memorial ceremony, delegates held a ribbon cutting ceremony to inaugurate the memorial stele for Lao and Vietnamese heroes who died on Laotian soil.

The memorial stele is designed in harmony with the traditions of the two countries, with a total investment value of over 200 million VND.

The project was undertaken by the Quang Binh Economic Construction Youth Volunteer Team since March 2014.

The construction of the memorial stele for Lao and Vietnamese heroic martyrs meets the wishes of veterans and former youth volunteers who participated in the battlefield on the historic Route 12A, expressing the sentiments of the people and further strengthening the solidarity of the youth of the two provinces of Khammouane and Quang Binh./.
