Inauguration of the monument of Hero Martyr Nguyen Van Troi

On May 18, Hue City Youth Union held the inauguration ceremony of the youth monument of the bust of Heroic Martyr Nguyen Van Troi. This is one of the practical activities of the Thua Thien - Hue Provincial Youth Union to celebrate the 122nd birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.

The bust of Heroic Martyr Nguyen Van Troi was built at Nguyen Van Troi Park, Thuan Thanh Ward (Hue City), created by sculptor Pham Van Lap.

The statue is cast in bronze, mounted on a concrete base and surrounded by flower beds. The total height of the structure is 2.95m, the bust alone is 0.92m high, with an investment value of nearly 530 million VND, contributed by the city's youth. The structure is meaningful in expressing the morality of "remembering the source of water", showing respect and gratitude for the great sacrifice of Heroic Martyr Nguyen Van Troi; thereby educating the generation of Hue city's youth to understand more about the heroic martyrs who were loyal to the country and filial to the people in the cause of national liberation.

At the inauguration ceremony, Hue City Youth Union and sculptor Pham Van Lap presented a symbolic plaster bust of Hero Martyr Nguyen Van Troi to Nguyen Van Troi Secondary School.

Heroic Martyr Nguyen Van Troi was born on February 1, 1940 in Thanh Quyt village, now Dien Thang Trung commune, Dien Ban district, Quang Nam province.MaleIn 1964, while on duty, he was discovered and arrested by the enemy. In prison, despite being brutally tortured, he did not submit, remaining loyal to the Party and the people. A few months later, the Saigon regime executed Troi when he was only 24 years old.
