Inauguration of Ho Chi Minh Monument in Dominican Republic

The delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by comrade Tran Dac Loi, Deputy Head of the Central External Relations Commission, attended the ceremony.

On March 24, 2013, the United Left Movement Party of the Dominican Republic, the government and people of Santo Dominigo Este city solemnly held the inauguration ceremony of the Square and Monument of President Ho Chi Minh in the capital of Santo Dominigo, Dominican Republic.

The ceremony was attended by the President of the Senate, General Secretary of the ruling Liberation Party Reynando Perez, General Secretary of the United Left Movement Party, Minister of Regional Cohesion Miguel Mexico, Mayor of Santo Dominigo Este Juan-de-London Santot and many other officials of the Dominican Republic, ambassadors of Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua, Bolivia and Ecuador to the Dominican Republic and a large number of people of Santo Dominigo Este.

The delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by Comrade Tran Dac Loi, Deputy Head of the Central External Relations Commission, and Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba and the Dominican Republic Vu Chi Cong attended the Ceremony.



Inauguration Ceremony of the Ho Chi Minh Square and Monument in the Capital of Santo Dominigo, Dominican Republic

The construction of Ho Chi Minh Square and his Monument was carried out on the basis of Resolution No. 27/12 of the People's Council of Santo Dominigo Este City, passed on September 13, 2012 with 100% of the votes in favor. The city government, the United Left Movement Party and the city's people contributed all the costs for the construction of the Square and Monument.

The speeches at the ceremony by the President of the Senate, the Secretary General of the ruling Liberation Party, the Minister, the Secretary General of the United Left Movement Party, the Mayor of the city and the Venezuelan Ambassador on behalf of the ALBA diplomatic corps all praised President Ho Chi Minh's contributions to the cause of national liberation of the people of Vietnam, Latin America and the world, praised his indomitable spirit, noble humanity and humanity and his pure moral example, and praised the heroic struggle for independence and freedom of the Vietnamese people.

Previously, Mr. Danilo Medina, President of the Dominican Republic; Mr. Leonel Fernandes, President of the ruling Liberation Party, former President of the Dominican Republic; Mr. Reynando Perez Perez, President of the Senate, General Secretary of the Liberation Party; and Mr. Abel Martines, President of the House of Representatives received the delegation of our Party.

At the receptions, the leaders of the Dominican Republic expressed their deep admiration for President Ho Chi Minh and the Vietnamese people's cause of national liberation, their admiration for the achievements of the renovation and poverty reduction process in Vietnam, and affirmed their desire to strongly strengthen the friendship and cooperation in all fields with Vietnam.

The delegation of our Party also had a working session with the delegation of the MIU Party led by General Secretary Miguel México, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic, visited the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh United Left Movement in the Vietnamese Quarter and the University in the capital Santo Dominigo./.
