Aspiration for tourism development in the Mekong Delta
(Baonghean.vn) - Western Nghe An continues to receive attention and guidance for tourism development with programs and projects aimed at generating income and improving the living standards of the people, in accordance with Resolution No. 39 of the Politburo on building and developing the province until 2030, with a vision to 2045.
Potential
Western Nghe AnNghe An possesses a fairly diverse range of tourism resources. In terms of natural resources, there are the primeval forests of Pu Mat, Pu Huong, and Pu Hoat; Puxailaileng peak (2,720 m), the "roof" of Nghe An; and beautiful and attractive waterfalls…
Besides its natural endowments, the high mountainous region of western Nghe An province can also develop tourism by exploiting the rich cultural identity of the Thai, Tho, Mong, and Kho Mu ethnic groups.

In the development orientation for tourism in Western Nghe An province, the focus will be on developing ecotourism, exploration and experiential tourism; community tourism, and agricultural tourism.
In recent times, the tourism industry has conducted surveys and developed tourism products, including the adventure tourism product "Conquering Puxailaileng Peak"; eco-tourism experiences from Pha Lai Dam to Co Phat village (Con Cuong); caravan tours "Exploring the Western Nghe An Route"; surveys for the development of eco-tourism products in Pu Mat National Park, especially the development of community-based tourism destinations.

In particular, ecotourism and community-based tourism have developed strongly, creating a brand for Western Nghe An. Destinations such as Pha Lai Ecotourism Area, Khe Kem Waterfall, Pu Mat National Park (Con Cuong), Sang Le Forest (Tuong Duong), the Seven-Tier Waterfall complex (Que Phong), and villages like Hoa Tien village (Quy Chau), Nua village, Khe Ran (Con Cuong), or Muong Long (Ky Son)... have become familiar to many domestic and foreign tourists.

Besides ecotourism and community tourism, western Nghe An province has added a new type of agricultural tourism. These include destinations in the red soil region of Nghia Dan such as Phu Quy Flower Valley, Truong Gia Farm (Nghia Long), and Hon Mat Tourist Area (Nghia Loc); and in Thanh Chuong district, HDT Ecotourism Area and Thanh An Tea Island...

Aiming to diversify products to attract tourists, Nghe An's tourism industry is developing and perfecting two adventure tourism products: "Kayaking - trekking - mountain biking from Pha Lai dam (Xieng village) to Co Phat village (Mon Son commune - Con Cuong district)" and "Conquering Puxailaileng peak" (Na Ngoi commune - Ky Son district).
Direction
Recognizing the challenges facing tourism development in the Mekong Delta, such as the long distances between tourist destinations in different districts, inadequate tourism infrastructure, a shortage of trained labor, and cultural decline in some areas, the Nghe An tourism industry has implemented several solutions to maximize the region's tourism potential.

This involves diversifying tourism products and focusing on ecotourism, community tourism, experiential tourism, adventure tourism, and agricultural tourism to exploit natural and cultural tourism resources in the western districts.

Mobilize investment resources to build tourism infrastructure, prioritizing transportation infrastructure connecting national highways to tourist destinations. Call on large enterprises to invest in tourism projects (resorts, experiential areas, etc.) along National Highway 7A and National Highway 48 to create tourist attractions, thereby spreading tourism throughout the region.

Focus on preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic minority communities, thereby creating more diverse community-based tourism products. Emphasize the training and development of tourism human resources, including local people involved in tourism activities. Strengthen promotional and advertising efforts, and welcome Farmtrip groups to survey and develop tourism programs connecting destinations in Western Nghe An in particular and tourist destinations in the province in general.

Promote the development of international tourism routes through the Nam Can Border Gate (Ky Son district) to connect Laos via the border gate to localities in western Nghe An province.
Implementing Resolution No. 39 NQ/TW of the Politburo on building and developing Nghe An province until 2030, with a vision to 2045, the tourism sector is continuing to promote tourism development in the western districts. Based on existing potential, the sector will exploit resources, develop new types of tourism, and build and refine new products to attract tourists, contributing to the goal of building and developing Nghe An province commensurate with its position, role, and importance, worthy of being the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh.
