Rewarding 2 citizens for searching for the bodies of 3 drowned students

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of May 17, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Quynh Long Commune (Quynh Luu) organized an unexpected award ceremony for the brave action in rescuing 3 students who were swept away by waves while swimming in the sea in Cong Hoa village, Quynh Long commune.

Accordingly, two citizens were unexpectedly awarded certificates of merit by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quynh Long commune, Mr. Bui Sac and Bui Duc Thuan, citizens of Cong Hoa village, Quynh Long commune.

Previously, at 3:30 p.m. on May 16, twin brothers Vu Van Huynh and Vu Van De (living in Quynh Thuan commune) and Bui Van Thanh (a 5th grade student at Quynh Thuan Primary School) went to Cong Hoa beach in Quynh Long commune (Quynh Luu) to swim and were swept away by the waves.

Leaders of the Party Committee and People's Committee of Quynh Long commune presented certificates of merit to two citizens Bui Sac and Bui Duc Thuan.

After receiving the news, the authorities took many measures to search. Without hesitation, two citizens Bui Sac and Bui Duc Thuan quickly swam and dived with the authorities to search for the bodies of the three victims, but they were still not found.

The two men used basket boats to search along the coastline of Cong Hoa village, and used nets to search for the victims' bodies.

At around 10:30 p.m. on May 16, Mr. Sac and Mr. Thuan, along with the authorities, were actively searching when they discovered a body at Bai Hang beach, Cong Hoa village, about 50 meters from where the three students had an accident.

After being brought to shore, the victim was identified as Bui Quang Thanh (11 years old). At around 5:00 a.m. on May 17, authorities and family members found the bodies of twin brothers Vu Van Huynh and Vu Van De, who were caught in a fishing net and drifted to Bai Hang beach in Cong Hoa village, Quynh Long commune.

On the same day, May 17, local authorities of Quynh Long and Quynh Thuan communes, along with teachers and staff of Quynh Thuan Primary School, visited and encouraged the family of the drowned student.
