Rewarding the task force for destroying a large drug ring
(Baonghean.vn) - Carrying out a peak period of crime suppression before, during and after the 2014 Lunar New Year, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Nghe An Province Police coordinated with related professional units to eradicate a large drug trafficking ring, arresting 5 subjects, seizing 10 heroin cakes and 2 kg of crystal meth.
At the end of September 2013, after successfully destroying a drug trafficking ring led by Hoang Van Phon (50 years old), residing in Vo Liet commune, Thanh Chuong, and seizing 20 heroin cakes, the drug investigation police force of Nghe An Public Security continued to investigate and clarify a branch of this ring run by Tran Thanh Giang (born in 1971), residing in Lam Giang village, Vo Liet commune, Thanh Chuong district. Tran Thanh Giang was a subject who had served 17 years in prison for illegal drug trafficking. Just released from prison, he continued to connect with a number of subjects to form an inter-provincial, transnational drug trafficking ring, regularly transporting drugs from abroad to Nghe An and to the southern provinces for consumption. Persistently fighting, at about 5:00 p.m. on December 2, in Vo Liet commune, Thanh Chuong district (Nghe An), the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Nghe An Police coordinated with professional units to arrest Le Doan Chinh (born in 1985), residing in Trung Duc hamlet, Vo Liet commune, Thanh Chuong district, and Duong Thi Be Lan (born in 1985), registered permanent residence: Long Truong hamlet, Hoa My commune, Phung Hiep district, Hau Giang, for the act of illegally transporting drugs. Chinh and Lan are a married couple and also an important link in Tran Thanh Giang's drug trafficking ring.

Expanding the investigation, at 8:00 p.m. the same day, the Task Force executed an emergency arrest warrant for Nguyen Ngoc Thuc (born in 1972), residing in Trung Luong ward, Hong Linh town (Ha Tinh) - the subject who appropriated the drugs that Chinh and Lan left behind on the run, confiscating 10 heroin cakes weighing more than 3.4 kg and 2 kg of crystal meth. Immediately after that, the two ringleaders, Nguyen The Ha (born in 1963), residing in hamlet 3, Thanh Thuy commune, Thanh Chuong (Nghe An) and Tran Thanh Giang, were also arrested by the police force.
