Achieving this result, in addition to the State's support policies, there are also significant contributions from the team of village elders, village chiefs, and prestigious people among ethnic minorities.

Elected by the villagers as the village chief, Mr. Bach Dinh Dung in Cao Veu 3 village, Phuc Son commune has always performed well as a prestigious person. Mr. Dung said: The entire Cao Veu 3 village has 110 households, of which 53% are poor households. The big challenge for a village chief like him is how to reduce the poverty rate and improve the lives of the villagers.

Thinking and doing, after many times with the village officials to learn in other localities, realizing that sugarcane is suitable for the soil in his hometown, Mr. Dung mobilized a few households to try planting. In the first year, the sugarcane fields were planted with good yield, bringing in an income of 50 - 60 million VND/ha. Thanks to that, people trusted and followed. Up to now, the whole village has 24 households participating in growing sugarcane with an area of ​​15 ha.

Mr. Luong Van Kim, a villager, shared: Once a poor household in the village, Mr. Dung encouraged my family to grow sugarcane, so we focused on producing on an area of ​​1 hectare, and after 1 year we had a good income. From sugarcane and models of developing commercial livestock farming in 2015, 10 households in the village escaped poverty. Although the lives of the people in Cao Veu 3 village are still difficult, thanks to people who are devoted to the village and the village like Mr. Dung, the lives of the people here have improved day by day.

Under the encouragement of village chief Bach Dinh Dung, the entire Cao Veu 3 village, Phuc Son commune (Anh Son) has 24 households participating in sugarcane planting.

In Thanh Son commune, a locality with a large population of Thai ethnic people, the role of village elders, village chiefs and prestigious people is even more important. For nearly 3 years since being elected as a prestigious person, Mr. Ngan Van Chinh in village 6, Thanh Son commune has made many contributions to the development and advancement of the village. Mr. Chinh said: In order for the villagers to follow and work together well, first of all, I myself am exemplary in my lifestyle, always devoted to the work of the village.

Mr. Chinh regularly propagates and mobilizes people to implement the policies of the Party and the State, eliminates backward customs, and preserves and maintains local cultural features. For complicated cases, Mr. Chinh also actively coordinates with local authorities and households to propagate and directly mobilize each individual subject. Thanks to that, whenever there is a conflict or argument in the village... thanks to Mr. Chinh's voice and prestige, many cases have been resolved well and thoroughly.

Ethnic minorities in Anh Son have more than 1,800 households with more than 7,800 people. In recent years, with the attention and direction of the Party Committee and district government, the movement of village elders, village chiefs, and prestigious people doing many good deeds among ethnic minorities in Anh Son district has developed widely.

Being close to the people is a regular job of village elders, village chiefs, and prestigious people in Anh Son.
