The North-South Expressway, Dien Chau - Bai Vot section, has 32 bridges, of which Hung Duc Bridge across Lam River is the largest bridge, 4.1 km long and 17 m wide, connecting Hung Nguyen District (Nghe An) with Duc Tho District (Ha Tinh). At the end of the year, the Prime Minister inspected the North-South Expressway, assigned the Project Management Board to base on the project completion plan, direct contractors to make detailed plans to implement the remaining work volumes and items by day/week/month of each bid package; on that basis, strongly directed contractors to focus all resources, take advantage of favorable weather to organize overtime, increase shifts, and perform rolling construction of foundation and road surfaces; at the same time, urgently deploy the work of completing the slope, installing traffic safety systems, ensuring the project is completed on schedule. To the north of Than Vu tunnel, Hoa Hiep Construction Company Ltd. has dug more than 550m of the right tunnel. From the beginning, the company mobilized 2 drilling rigs, 2 concrete spraying machines, dozens of other vehicles and machines, and nearly 100 officers, engineers, and workers working in 3 shifts, 24/7. It is known that the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway project has a route length of 49.3 km with a total investment of 13,338 billion VND. The project started on May 22, 2021, expected to be completed in May 2024. To date, the output value of contractors is more than 2,046 billion VND, equivalent to 24% of the contract value. For the Nghi Son - Dien Chau section, contractors have poured 16,750 km of grade 1 crushed stone, 5.7 km of cement reinforced aggregate has been constructed, for the weak soil treatment items, the road is the project's progress critical line, expected to be completed in February 2023. One of the biggest difficulties of the route is the lack of earth mines or the fact that there are mines but they are not enough to meet the requirements. Some mines cannot be exploited due to obstruction by local people, such as Eo Gio mine in Hung Tay commune. In Dien Chau district, there are still 6 households stuck on the road leading to the overpass across Dien Doai commune.
