About 2.2 million tourists came to Nghe An in the first 6 months of the year

(Baonghean.vn) - In 2014, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An province has implemented many activities to promote market expansion, cooperate in tourism development and continue to implement tourism stimulus programs to attract visitors. The Department has directed units and enterprises in the industry to participate in tourism events in provinces and cities in the country such as: Vietnam International Tourism Fair VITM 2014, Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival, Hue Festival Culinary Festival 2014 and participate in promoting Nghe An tourism at the Conference on Linking Tourism Development in the Northwest region... and effectively implemented the work of ensuring a safe and secure environment for tourism activities.

Thanks to that, in the first 6 months of 2014, Nghe An tourism activities have had positive changes, the number of visitors to tourist attractions has increased significantly, especially during the festivals at the beginning of the year, Sen Village Festival, Cua Lo Tourism Festival. This year in particular, due to the hot sunny days in May and the first half of June, the number of visitors to coastal resorts has increased significantly, leading to a sharp increase in food and beverage services.

As a result, in the first 6 months of the year, the number of tourists to Nghe An is estimated at 2.2 million, of which about 1.65 million are staying tourists, up 9% over the same period in 2013 and reaching 48.5% of the yearly plan. Revenue from tourism services is estimated at 1,050 billion VND, up 10% over the same period in 2013 and reaching 46.7% of the yearly plan.
