Trapped in the Kursk region are about 30 officers from NATO countries who directed air strikes deep into Russian territory, Sergei Lebedev, coordinator of the pro-Russian Nikolaev resistance, told Sputnik, citing his colleagues.
"According to information from the underground forces, there are about 30 NATO officers surrounded in the Kursk region, who are responsible for commanding troops in the area, as well as receiving intelligence data from NATO satellites and adjusting attacks deep into Russian territory," the news agency's source said.
Late last week, the Russian military launched a large-scale offensive in the Kursk region and in just a few days liberated more than 1,100 square kilometers of territory seized by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, including the villages of Staraya Sorochina, Malaya Loknya, Cherkasskoye Porechnoye, Martynovka and Mikhailovka. On Thursday, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the liberation of Sudzha - the center of the region.
