Surrounding hills, "waiting" for trees to grow big, earning hundreds of millions each year
(Baonghean.vn) - Without costly investment, without worrying about crop failure or price loss, by intensively cultivating crops, a farming household in Nam Dan district - Nghe An has earned hundreds of millions of dong each year.
These days, Mr. Nguyen Khac Nam and his wife in hamlet 10, Nam Loc commune (Nam Loc) are busy harvesting the tree (to make brooms).
While transporting the bundles down from the mountain, Mr. Nam happily said: "This type of plant is harvested all year round, but it dries faster on sunny days, and can be imported after just one sun exposure...".

It is known that Mr. Nam's family is currently cultivating 7 hectares of reed trees, the area spreads from the slopes to the top of 2 hills of Truong Mountain. People here, each family only has a few acres of reed trees to about 1 hectare, and a large area like his family's is very rare.
According to Mr. Nam, his family has such a large area of tran tran trees because he was lucky to receive a piece of forest land with this tree. With tran tran, you can harvest without fertilizing, but if you diligently spread a little compound fertilizer after the heavy rains, the yield will be higher.

Harvesting the trees is also quite laborious. First, the trees are selected and cut and spread on the mountain. After drying in the sun, the trees are collected and taken down the mountain, and all the leaves and flowers are crushed. Crushing the trees is mainly done by hand.
In Nam Loc, families with small areas often harvest to sell; Mr. Nam's family has to hire more workers to do the work.

With an area of 7 hectares in harvest, the tree has brought Mr. Nam's family around 250 million VND each year. This is an attractive source of income for many farming households in Nam Loc commune.
In recent years, the market demand for the rengran tree to make brooms has increased sharply, the leaves and flowers of the rengran tree are also purchased to produce essential oils. Currently, the wholesale price of good rengran trees at the foot of the mountain is 16,000 - 18,000 VND/kg.
