Smoke and dust from Anh Son Cement Factory pollute the environment.
(Baonghean.vn) -For many years, the people of Hoi Son commune (Anh Son, Nghe An) have been living with dust and toxic gases emitted by Anh Son Stone Exploitation Enterprise and 12-9 Cement Joint Stock Company, but no authorities have stepped in to handle the situation.
The road from Anh Son town through Hoi Son commune is seriously polluted by dust and smoke. A resident in hamlet 9, Hoi Son commune, expressed his frustration: “Day and night, we have to close our doors because we are afraid of dust and smoke coming in from outside, but we still cannot avoid it. Just opening the door a little bit will cause dust to flood into the house and cover all the furniture such as tables, chairs, beds, cabinets…”

Not only is there dust from the quarry, there is also a cement factory that releases smoke and dust into the environment 12-9 days and nights, seriously affecting the health of people living around the area. The exhaust gas mixes with the smoke and dust to create a thick white layer that obscures the view, making it unsafe for traffic participants. This road connects the center of Anh Son district with neighboring areas, so every day there are many people and vehicles passing by. Moreover, this toxic gas emission site is less than 100m from Hoi Son Primary School. More than 200 students here are having to study in an extremely polluted environment. Ms. Than Thi Lam - Vice Principal of Hoi Son Primary School shared: "Faced with this environmental pollution situation, I feel very worried about the health of the students. I don't know what consequences they will have to bear in the future."
Passersby here have to endure dust every day.
Discussing this issue, Mr. Dang Dinh Luc - Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Anh Son district said: "This factory is operating on an outdated Chinese vertical kiln technology line, causing the current pollution situation. The district does not have enough authority to solve this problem, so the above situation has lasted until now."
