Commencement of investment project for auxiliary dam and drainage canal of Ban Mong reservoir

(Baoghean.vn)-On the morning of October 12, in Chau Binh commune, Quy Chau district, Nghe An Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (investor) and Corporation 36 - Ministry of National Defense (construction contractor) started the investment project for the auxiliary dam, drainage canal and Chau Binh drainage canal of the Ban Mong reservoir project.

The Ban Mong reservoir project is one of the national key irrigation and hydroelectric projects, which is of great significance to the economic and people's development of Nghe An province. Accordingly, the construction site is 3,396 hectares, of which 3,024 hectares are permanently located under the lake, mainly in Quy Chau district. Therefore, the commencement of the auxiliary dam, the reservoir drainage canal and Chau Binh drainage canal is extremely important, helping 600 households in Quy Chau town and infrastructure not to have to relocate, while protecting thousands of hectares of production land, along with traffic infrastructure, electricity, water, and communications in the region. Especially in the extremely difficult conditions of the land fund in the Western region, this is even more meaningful... This is a project with outstanding advantages, bringing high economic efficiency.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and striving of the Investor, together with the Departments, branches and local authorities in quickly completing the preparation work so that the project could start on time. In order for the project to be completed on schedule and effectively, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned relevant levels and branches to coordinate with the Investor and the Ban Mong Project Management Board to quickly carry out compensation, site clearance, hand over clean land and create the best conditions for the contractor. Authorities at all levels need to create all conditions for households that have to be relocated to be resettled in neighboring areas if they have a need, so that people can soon stabilize their lives. For contractors participating in the project construction and related units: Urgently concentrate human resources, machinery and equipment, means, materials and finance to meet all requirements for construction; Enhance responsibility in construction and supervision of works, ensure labor safety, to ensure the project is completed on schedule, quality, technique and aesthetics.

Although it is a later item, the investment project for the auxiliary dam, drainage canal and Chau Binh drainage canal of the Ban Mong reservoir project is determined to be constructed and completed before the project's key works such as the main dam, self-flowing canal... The project is considered a key and urgent project of Nghe An province, with a total investment of more than 500 billion VND, expected to be completed in 12 months./.
